Lenny Von Dohlen dead: Twin Peaks and Home Alone 3 star dies aged 63

Lenny von Dohlen was born in Augusta, Georgia. As a child, he wished to become a jockey, but grew too tall for his dream. He graduated from the University of Texas/Austin and majored in drama at Loretto Heights College. Lenny Von Dohlen was living in Los Angeles at the time of his death. James has mentioned his partner a few times on his Twitter.

For nine months he starred in Caryl Churchill's play Cloud 9, directed by Tommy Tune, followed by The Roundabout Theatre Company's revival of Desire Under the Elms, opposite Kathy Baker.

In 2017 he appeared in Episode 12 of Seth MacFarlane's futuristic sci-fi Fox series The Orville, as the priest Valondis. He appeared in acclaimed independent films such as Tollbooth , Bird of Prey , One Good Turn , Entertaining Angels , Cadillac and Frontline , and played one of the villains in Home Alone 3 . James also works in television and film and has been nominated for five Emmys and a Television Critics Association Award; he has twice been a finalist for the Humanitas Prize. He was a producer and head writer for the series PAZ, the head writer for Maurice Sendak’s Little Bear, and the writer for the Bill Cosby series Little Bill.

His sister Catherine Von Dohlen first announced his death Thursday morning on Facebook. Brother Len was passionate about everything and everyone. He was always leading; whether it be riveting conversation, an artistic creation or a trip to new places. Moreover, his brother is John David Von Dohlen. His sister-in-law Kimberly J. Fromme Von Dohlen died on 31 March 2007 after battling cancer. Together they raised two beautiful daughters, Kristal Von Dohlen of San Antonio and Katy Von Dohlen of Goliad.

He appeared in the Masterpiece Theatre presentation of Eudora Welty's The Ponder Heart on PBS. Fans of Lenny Von Dohlen are saddened by his death in July 2022. They paid tribute to his family and wondered if he left his partner/wife behind at the time of his death. He died on July 5, 2022, after a long illness.

His plays have been produced at theatres throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Japan, China, and Australia. It is unclear if Lenny Von Dohlen was married or not at the time of his death. On 8 July 2022, James posted a picture of Lenny and captioned it, “Lenny. “Above all, the theater was his first love,” longtime manager Wolfe wrote in a statement. He most recently appeared in an episode of Seth MacFarlane’s series The Orville.
